Josh is the connector, the numbers man, the visionary.
With art history degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Williams College, Josh began his professional career at Sotheby’s New York. Working as Director of the Nielsen Gallery in Boston, he furthered his understanding of collecting and the auction market before pursuing a career in finance. He built a solid New England practice at Northwestern Mutual, focusing on insurance, compensation planning, and socially responsible investing for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Josh accepted an invitation to join Merrill Lynch in Charleston, South Carolina and continued to broaden his capabilities in investment analysis and real estate finance for individual and institutional clients. In 2006, he went into private practice through Linsco/Private Ledger, the largest independent platform for financial advisory services. Now a Registered Investment Advisor through the State of South Carolina, Josh is also a licensed realtor.
An avid musician, Josh continues in his interest in the arts through positions on the Medallion Circle with the Preservation Society, the Young Collectors Host Committee for the Historic Charleston Foundation, and is a past co-chair of the Spoleto Soiree, part of the Spoleto USA Arts Festival. He is also an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the Sustainability Institute, and Lowcountry Local First. Josh is on the finance committee for St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, the advisory board of the Center for a Better South, and the U.S. Green Building Council’s Green Schools Advocacy Committee.
